Centre for Remote Imaging, Sensing and Processing (CRISP) CRISP is a research centre established in the National University of Singapore with funding from the National Science and Technology Board of Singapore. CRISP operates a satellite ground station to receive images from remote sensing satellites. The reception circle of CRISP's ground station covers southern China to the north, east coast of India to the west, northwest coast of Australia to the south, and the Philippines to the east. The ground station began operation in September 1995 and has by now (July 1997) archived about 70,000 scenes of SPOT images, 9,000 scenes of ERS SAR images, and 550 passes of RADARSAT SAR images. Users may browse the complete data catalogue of CRISP through the World Wide Web (http://www.crisp.nus.edu.sg). Quick look images together with location maps are provided on the catalogue browse system. CRISP supplies standard and value-added remote sensing products, and provides consultation services and training courses.
