Hawai'i Volcanoes
National Park

Kilauea is the most active volcano on the island of Hawai'i. The view of this rendering is from the east looking west/northwest. In the right background is Mauna Kea and in the left background, Mauna Loa. The white "cloud" at the bottom of the image is actually steam generated by the lava as it enters the ocean. The Kilauea Caldera is visible in the center of the rendering. Notice the "stair step" hills on the right edge of the image.
